I usually drill 3/4" 1" holes using auger bits. drill larger holes slow speed start gradually ramp power & speed ul achieve optimal drilling. jt ct efficiently wh drill, variable speed dial slide switch independent. vy difficult adjust speed dial wh hand simultaneously try hold drill, hold slide switch ON, drill hole. nd hands drill larger holes thing. nimble strong that, on won't bit ns running start, speak, power wood. try drill hole fast initial speed, bit wl bite stop, break bone yr hand crushed drill body rotates hand (make se switched locked - safety position holes, tn drill soon release switch; hopefully be yr hand crushed bad). previous reviewer experienced se using auger bit, switched spade/paddle bits wh results.
